An old earthenware water bottle from northern Thailand. This elegant form is typical of the water bottles that were made throughout the region. This particular one bares the character from years of use but is otherwise undamaged. The once highly burnished surface of the pots neck has be worn away - undoubtedly by a cup which would have been traditionally placed over the opening and by the many hands that have poured water from this bottle.
